Brilliant Poetry Immersion Kit for Festivals and Teachers in Classrooms

Do you want to immerse your pupils into a world of words, images and poetry? My immersion kit includes ways to touch all the senses so no matter how a young person is sparked, they are catered for. No-one can resist playing with the giant magnetic poetry – and it’s amazing how quickly a poem appears on the board. People who thought they weren’t poets, just through play, and the simplicity of having a range of inspiring words easily available, and surprising juxtapositions, tap into their natural creativity and produce wonderful results. It works for all ages – five to ninety-five!

There are also words to go with every book I have written – Animal Magic (natural world and sustainability words), Reaching the Stars, poems about Extraordinary Women and Girls (self-expression words) and The Same Inside, Poems about Empathy and Friendship (friendships and relationships and all related matters words).

Then there’s the puzzle – double-sided, with a different poem on each side, one a shape poem, one not. It chimes with the idea that a poem is pieced together idea by idea, line by line, word by word – it is a building process. The slotting in of the puzzle’s words reinforce where the rhymes go. A child too young to write well can make a poem in this way, too.

There are also videos of both poets and children reading poems. These are listened to with headphones so as not to disturb others writing their own rhythms in the room! There are two videos – one for younger and one for older people.

There are also giant illustrated poem posters and giant shape poem posters, and reversible poem mobiles – the poems can be read downwards as well as upwards!
