Butterfly conservation – you can help
falls skywards –
autumn butterfly
Liz Brownlee
Butterfly numbers in the UK are falling alarmingly – Butterfly Conservation is holding a ‘count’ from the 14th July to the 5th August to establish just how low (or high!) figures are. If you’d like to take part, you can count for quarter of an hour in your garden or any area where butterflies haunt such as grassy fields, parks etc.

So sad to see the butterfly population diminishing. I was struck by how many butterflies I saw in Corfu recently. It was overwhelming; I even had to blog about it, but it made me realise how few butterflies I see at home in Yorkshire.
