Reading at Bristol Festival of Nature

Bristol is a very special place – for instance it is the centre of world wildlife films and the very best are made here.

In fact my own husband won ‘The Golden Panda’ for being the best wildlife film editor a few years ago.

Once a year a nature festival is held around the harbour – here you can do a variety of fun things ranging from finding out about any kind of wildlife, both local and worldwide, you can learn about the terrible things that are happening to our oceans because of plastic waste, join the RSPB, see some hedgehogs and hear all about them from experts, learn how to plant and buy the plants for a wildlife garden… the list is endless!

There are also talks all day in a tent by TV celebrities on subjects as far apart as elephants and ‘is there life on Mars’?

Today I went and read wildlife poems at the spoken word tent, along with many other wildlife poets.

It was very hot. I am burnt. But it was fabulous fun.

Thank you to Bristol Poetry Can for organising it. I heard some great poets.
