Poems, animal info, extraordinary women, my books!

I’m a National Poetry Day Poetry Ambassador!

National Poetry Day is on the 2nd of October this year, and I have been made an Ambassador along with four other children’s poets – Paul Cookson, Jan Dean, Brian Moses, and Roger Stevens.

You can see pictures of them all here:

National Poetry Day Ambassadors.

The theme for this year’s National Poetry Day is ‘Remember’ and we have all been asked to write poems on this theme which are up on the Forward Arts Foundation website.

Mine are about Dolphins and Elephants and can be read here:

Dolphins and Elephants.

I hope to be posting news of a fantabulous poetry event I’m hosting in Bristol for National Poetry Day here very soon!

But to keep you going, here are some photos of the last event I did at the Arnolfini:

Fabulous poem!

Charlotte spent a long time writing this with her mum!

Written by Rohan, aged 6!

The poet-tree at the end of the exhibition.

Visitors having fun writing poetry – even those who said they couldn’t do it!

And lastly, the giant poetry puzzle:

  1. That is so brilliant Liz, well done you and well deserved xxxx

  2. Congratulations – can’t think of a better ambassador for poetry!

  3. Liz

Congratulations, Liz! I love your two poems, and the children’s ones. I suppose your loft now contains a box of the contents of the poet-tree?
