Poetry Event at Foyles, Bristol
If you didn’t know it already, to celebrate National Poetry Day and being a National Poetry Day Ambassador, I am holding a fun poetry event for ALL AGES at:
Foyles, 6, Quakers Friars, Cabot Circus, Bristol, on the Saturday, 4th October.
This is a free event.
The theme for National Poetry Day 2014 is ‘Remember’ and the event will be on the theme ‘Remember the Animals’.
The brilliant illustrator, Gordy Wright, will be joining me to help anyone who’d like to illustrate their poems, or someone else’s!
We have 3 IMMENSE magnetic poetry boards, to play with the GIANT magnetic poetry – all 1,000 words! No-one can resist playing with the magnets and before you even know it people who didn’t realise they were poets – are poets!
There is also a GIGANTIC double-sided wooden jigsaw puzzle – in the past we’ve had fun timing who can complete it in the shortest time!
Not only that – on the walls will be a display of animal shape poems, animal poems, animal art – and some palindrome mobiles about animals.
If you are in the area, do pop along and have fun with us – there is a café in Foyle’s as well as thousands of wonderful books to browse – what more could you want?
