A-Z of Amazing Animals
Hello!
Starting from Wednesday 1st April, I am entering the brilliant A-Z Blog Challenge 2015.
Every single day of April (except Sundays!) I will be posting the ultimate alphabetic guide to some of the planet’s most amazing creatures.
I will be using photos, videos, poems and facts. I might even do some drawing, if I have time.
Did you know that elephant mothers hum a special song to their newborns? You do if you have read my A-Z challenge blogs 2014!
Did you know that birds have an extra cone in their eyes, which not only enables them to see red, green and blue light and all mixes of it, like us, but also UV light, a spectrum of colours we can only guess at – and all mixes of that spectrum with red, green and blues! Not only that, they see more shades than we can of red, green and blue. They see a completely different, much more colourful world than us.
The poem that goes with that fact is posted below under the title ‘Light’.
I hope you will join me on my A-Z journey this year, I’m very much looking forward to reading and commenting on all your blogs again – please do remember to turn off ‘captcha’ because if it’s on, sometimes I can’t comment.
So – to sum up, this is the sort of creature I will be featuring – if you want to see this little guy under my letter ‘H’, and his poem, do come visit!
When I saw this bird, from La Bioguia’s page, I just had to write a poem about it.
See you soon! Can’t wait.

Hi, Chrys, just to say, I’ve tried to comment on your blog but it seems to be one of the ones that won’t accept my comments… I think your theme will be great fun, and I’m looking forward to the tips!

Hello Tarkabarka… I think I’ve done that in previous years… or maybe it’s one I considered? I do have an armadillo poem, but it is a hairy screaming armadillo. Sadly A, F and P are all planned but i may be able to work it in, I’ll have a look at its Latin name!

Thank you, Arlee! I’ve had great fun planning the entries, and to my surprise it’s getting easier year on year. I truly thank you for organising this, it’s my favourite month of the year! What month can you sign up from? I always miss it, thought I was early this year and ended up in the 600s!

The list always opens at the end of January. A lot of people always sign up in the first few days then it’s a gradual growth until the final week when there’s another surge. I’m finding that it doesn’t matter where you are on the list as much as how often you comment on other blogs. Another thing that draws more visitors I think is posting the link at the A to Z Facebook page.

Ahh… thank you, I haven’t explored the facebook page, I will hotfoot it over now!
And also mark next year’s calendar – it’s about finding myself in the list, my eyes go funny by the time I reach my name!

ON finding your name on the list easily, when you are on the list page you can hit Control F to bring up a search box where when you enter the name entered on the list it will be highlighted so that it’s easier to find. A neat little time saving trick that was introduced to me last year. What a relief from scanning that long list!
