National Poetry Day Message Poem by Maddie Beal, Coastlands School

Dear Field Mouse,
I love your hollow hideout,
Storing corn all day.
But when the freezing fall comes
They will take the food away.
.
But, my dear friend Field Mouse,
I do have to say,
“It was I, I was the one
Who chopped your tail away!”
.
